During his official visit to Jakarta Vladimir Putin held talks with President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. One of the central themes of talks between the two leaders was the development of Russian-Indonesian economic relations, namely engaging in new projects and concrete initiatives.
Russia and Indonesia intend to fully use their countries’ economic potential by engaging in closer cooperation in aviation, energy, mining, telecommunications and space research. They have significant prospects in the field of military and technical cooperation.
The two countries' leaders also discussed the issue of expanding bilateral cooperation in fields such as culture, academia, education and tourism.
