The two leaders exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral relations. They described as generally satisfactory the results of a meeting of the heads of the border and customs services of Russia, Ukraine and Moldova and representatives of the Transdnestr region in Chisinau on March 22. The meeting followed an agreement reached by the leaders of the three countries in Odessa. Mr Putin and Mr Voronin underlined the importance of a consolidated position in favour of Moldova’s single customs area.
The presidents also touched upon cooperation in the electric power industry, financial and economic fields.
