In the President’s opinion, the Loya Jirga will take “truly historical decisions in the interests of reviving a peaceful, independent, united, neutral and prospering Afghan state.”
The message also read:
“I am convinced that the most respected and wise representatives of the long-suffering Afghan people, who have gathered in Kabul now, will lay a solid foundation for ensuring the country’s stability and equal conditions for all ethnic groups inhabiting the country. We hope that the country’s transitional leadership will continue to actively build a new Afghanistan living in peace and unity with all its neighbours and the international community.
“Russia is interested in strengthening friendly relations and mutually advantageous cooperation with Afghanistan in various spheres. It is ready to assist your country’s social and economic revival in every possible way and contribute to international efforts aimed at ensuring progress and prosperity in Afghanistan.”
