President Putin with Azerbaijan\'s President Heidar Aliev.
The two countries’ leaders agreed that the summit had positive results even without the final declaration.
Vladimir Putin noted the following three gains of the past summit. First, it was very important that the Presidents personally discussed problems of the Caspian region.
Second, they agreed on personal contact in the Caspian G5 format.
And third, the five Caspian leaders reached an understanding that all issues can be settled only through multi-lateral negotiations.
Vladimir Putin and Heidar Aliev also gave much attention to bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
