The two heads of state discussed specific issues on the agenda of the forthcoming talks including some aspects of the formation of the treaty and legal basis for Russian-Finnish relations before Mr Halonen’s planned working visit to St Petersburg on May 26.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of intensity in bilateral contacts, and noted the significance of the forthcoming summit both in terms of the further development of Russian-Finnish cooperation and in the context of the preparation for the Russia-European Union summit.
