Article 1 of the Federal Law on the Russian Federation’s Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States has had the term ‘foreign customers’ added to it, which covers the authorised organisations of foreign states, foreign participants in military-technical cooperation, and also international organisations representing the interests of foreign states.
The Federal Law on Procedures for Entry to and Exit from the Russian Federation has had a provision added to it in accordance with which foreign military servicemen entering the Russian Federation in order to carry out the Russian Federation’s international agreements and (or) decisions of Russian Federation official bodies in the area of military-technical cooperation, and their family members, are authorised to extend their stay in the Russian Federation through delivery of a multi-entry visa issued for the duration of the foreign trade contract registered according to the set procedures and for a total duration of not more than five years.
These new extension procedures for service visas for the above-named category of foreign citizens will remove the need to redo visas each year, thus ending the complications this entails for the foreign servicemen in carrying out their assigned duties, and this will make the Russian Federation’s military-technical cooperation with foreign states more effective.
