Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov reported on the signing of an agreement between the trade unions, employers, and the Government, regulating the basic principles for labour relations over 2008–2010. Mr Zhukov also said the minimum wage is expected to be raised to the subsistence minimum earlier than 2010.

First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov informed the meeting about the implementation of the latest stage in the GLONASS Federal Targeted Programme. Mr Ivanov said the number of space craft in orbit will be increased to 18, making it possible to cover the entire territory of the Russian Federation by the end of 2007. Mr Ivanov also reported on an upcoming meeting of the Victory organising committee, which plans to examine the issue of rehabilitation and job placements for military servicemen who have suffered injuries.
First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev reported on legislative work to establish the regulations for using the maternity capital. Mr Medvedev said that the maternity capital will be able to be used for all types of education: preschool, primary, secondary, and tertiary education.
Economic Development and Trade Minister Elvira Nabiullina reported on international comparative economic results for different countries. Russia is in eighth place and its GDP in purchasing power parity terms comes to $1.7 trillion, Mrs Nabiullina said.
