As he spoke at the meeting on the development of high-tech medical care for Russia that was held in Penza, Vladimir Putin called for clearly defining the priorities for the development of high-tech medical care. The head of state emphasized that these priorities should include the availability of modern medicine for children (from their first days of life) and of reproductive technologies, developing the domestic production of medical equipment and medicines, and increasing the use of nanotechnology in medicine.
As the President took stock of the meeting’s results, he noted that the construction of 15 new national high-technology medical centres in the Russian regions represents an obvious step towards modernising the whole health care system.
