The federal law ratifies the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the United Mexican States on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.
The Treaty was signed in Moscow on 21 June 2005.
The Treaty establishes an international legal basis for cooperation between the Russian Federation and the United Mexican States on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
In accordance with the Treaty, legal assistance in criminal matters will be provided if the conduct being examined constitutes a criminal offence according to the laws of both Parties.
The requested Party may, at its discretion, provide legal assistance in the event that the conduct being examined is not a criminal offence under its law.
