The President of Russia’s congratulatory message reads, in part, as follows:
”Please accept my sincere congratulations on your Socialist Party's victory in Spain's general election.
Russia and Spain have traditionally been linked by friendly, partnership relations, relations that, in recent years, have taken on notable positive momentum. To a large extent it is the intense and results-oriented political dialogue that encourages our multifaceted cooperation, including in the trade and economic spheres. We intend to continue to actively build mutually beneficial ties in all fields, to coordinate our positions on current issues on the international agenda, and to contribute to strengthening the legal framework and multilateral basis of world politics.
I wish you, Mr Prime Minister, new success in your fruitful activities and I wish all the citizens of Spain peace and prosperity.“
