The President’s message reads, in particular:
“Over these long years of our cooperation it has become a fine tradition that gives me much happiness to share with you the joy of these Easter days that bring the light of goodness, love and hope. I have deep respect for your selfless service as head of the Russian Orthodox Church. Your labour has contributed greatly to reviving our people’s centuries-old traditions, enabling us to reap a rich spiritual harvest.
I wish to assure you that the state will continue to support the Church in all its work to enlighten and further the moral education of our citizens, strengthen the influence of family values in the public awareness and maintain and consolidate unity in the Orthodox community”.
