The President said, in particular, in his message:
“Your forum is devoted to one of the most relevant subjects in modern applied science. The creation and use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials are decisive in many ways for the pace of scientific and technological progress today, and thus for the future of Russia’s social and economic development too.
Russia has all the right conditions for making great strides in developing the nanotechnology industry: the strong intellectual potential of Russian science, a business community that is interested in taking part, and the state’s support. It is important that new scientific achievements work not only to increase economic efficiency but also bring people a better quality of life and help to protect their security and health.
I am sure that this forum will demonstrate Russia’s increasing possibilities in the high-technology sector and will facilitate the exchange of experience and ideas between Russian and foreign specialists in this important area”.
The forum brings together 3,000 scientists, investors and businesspeople from 33 countries. Events include an exhibition of the latest developments in the nanotechnology industry, with projects from 80 firms and organisations from Russia, Austria, Germany, Latvia, the United States, and Finland.
The forum will take place on December 3–5 in Moscow.
