In his speech at the meeting on the social and economic development of the Urals Federal District, the President of Russia said that there is a need to fill the Russian market, diversify production and, all other things being equal, give priority to Russian producers.
He noted that countries dependent on their domestic market are less affected by the crisis. All government orders to support national producers will be maintained, Dmitry Medvedev said, but he added that producers need to create new points of growth to help overcome difficulties.
According to the head of state, the key challenge is to preserve a highly qualified workforce, an important factor for industrial growth. It is necessary to fully implement regional crisis programmes, streamline processes in the labour market, and take action on social support for those left without work, including training, retraining or providing assistance for those organising their own business.
