Mr Medvedev said in particular in his message:
“Over the fifty years of its history, your organization has achieved significant successes in strengthening political sovereignty, supporting the economic development of Asian and African countries, and increasing their international authority and influence.
The peoples of Asia and Africa are setting ambitious new goals for themselves today and are taking an active part in global integration in the aim of building a fairer and more stable world order.
Russia is constant in its support for Asian and African countries’ desire for equal and mutually beneficial cooperation. We greatly value the fact that over these last years our traditionally friendly relations with the countries of Asia and Africa have developed new impetus. Our growing political dialogue and the expansion of our trade and economic, scientific and technical and humanitarian ties are becoming important constructive factors on the international stage.
I am sure that your congress’ work will help to open up new opportunities for building cooperation between Asia and Africa and develop more fully the potential of your organisation’s participants.”
