The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State began in a restricted format and was then expanded to include members of delegations.
Taking part in the meeting were President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President of China Hu Jintao, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, First Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Norovyn Altankhuyag, SCO Secretary-General Bolat Nurgaliev and Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Counter-Terrorism Structure Myrzakan Subanov.
Following the meeting several documents on cooperation within the SCO were signed, including the Yekaterinburg Declaration and the Joint Communiqué of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Heads of State.
Later on Dmitry Medvedev made a statement to the media and answered questions from journalists.
