Measures to mitigate the effects of the global financial crisis which have been successfully applied in the regions should be extended throughout the country, Dmitry Medvedev said during a meeting with the members of the Federation Council Board.
According to the head of state, the upper house of parliament should be more proactive in informing the public about their work and explaining the essence of anti-crisis measures that have been taken. People need to know the contents, meaning and the general significance of the measures adopted by the government, the President stressed.
Dmitry Medvedev also advocated cuts in public spending at all levels in relation to the activities of any state agency.
