Taking part in the summit were President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and President of China Hu Jintao.
The meeting of the state leaders began in a restricted format and was then expanded to include members of delegations.
Following the summit the BRIC leaders adopted a Joint Declaration and a separate document on global food security.
