“You represented our country well, your team placed second overall, and you have confirmed Russia’s leading position in world sports. In the trying and difficult competition, our national team demonstrated excellent physical preparation and real willpower, winning 51 metals, of which 18 were gold metals.
I would like to send out special thanks to the coaches and to everyone who helped the athletes win, through their professionalism and their expertise.
I am certain that mastery of the sport and genuine team spirit will continue to be a mark of the young generation of Russian athletes in the future, and will be seen in future competitions, including the 2013 Summer Universiades in Kazan, as well as other international competitions.”
