Discoveries made in the Institute have in large measure defined the development of the exact sciences in the 20th century and provided the basis for technological breakthroughs in key sectors of the national economy and space exploration.
Today in the laboratories of the Institute mathematicians are conducting fruitful research on the fundamental problems of mathematics. The Institute is a home to a new generation of research mathematicians, and involved in large-scale international projects.
I hope that your one-of-a-kind team will continue to make significant contributions to major theoretical and applied problems and to enhance the prestige of Russian science.”
