Dmitry Medvedev made this declaration during talks with President of the Republic of Namibia Hifikepunye Pohamba.
According to the President of Russia, this objective is enshrined in the Joint Communique adopted at the end of Mr Medvedev's official visit to Namibia.
Mr Medvedev singled out the following as particularly promising fields of cooperation: energy-related projects, including nuclear energy, large-scale investment projects in mining, developing cooperation in fisheries, and tourism.
The President of Russia noted the close or harmonious positions of the two countries on major issues on the international agenda, and stressed that Russia will continue to strengthen its partnership with Africa, cooperate with African regional organisations, and contribute to resolving conflicts in Africa.
