The President said, in particular, in his message:
“One of the most important holidays for Muslims, the Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and takes the faithful to Islam’s spiritual and moral source. Right down the ages this holiday has always been a time for doing good and caring for the needy, and embodies people’s striving for perfection.
Russia’s Muslim community plays an active part in the country’s life and makes a big contribution to the interfaith dialogue. It has productive cooperation with state and public organisations in charity work and education and in helping to raise the young generation. It helps to preserve and look after Russia’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.”
