On their tour of the cross-country ski and biathlon centre, the two presidents were accompanied by head of the Russian Biathlon Union Alexander Kravtsov.
During the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Laura Centre hosted all biathlon and cross-country skiing competitions. The complex is located at an altitude of 850–1,430 meters above sea level and features two stadiums with separate start and finish zones and two separate sets of tracks for cross-country skiing and biathlon. There is also a shooting zone and practice track for the athletes.
