The message from the President of Russia reads, in particular:
“Please accept my sincere congratulations on the U.S. national holiday, Independence Day.
Starting from the first years of the founding of America, the history of our relationship has many good examples of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation. Today cooperation between Russia and the United States is particularly important for addressing the critical issues of our time. These include maintaining strategic stability, nuclear proliferation, combating international terrorism, and resolving regional conflicts.
I sincerely hope that together, in a spirit of mutual respect and trust, we will be able to give the Russian-American partnership new momentum and bring it to a qualitatively new level in the interests of our nations and the international community.
We are actively preparing for your visit to Moscow. We believe that our summit will achieve concrete results which should open up new prospects for the development of our relations for the benefit of the citizens of Russia and the United States, in the interests of peace and progress.”
