The message reads, in part:
“The Council unites hunting, environmental and scientific organisations from over 80 nations and conducts active work to restore populations of rare animals and protect aquatic ecosystems.
This year, the Council’s participants gathered in Russia for the 58th Assembly. The forum is devoted to issues of fighting poaching and maintaining hunting traditions based on respect for the environment. Its motto is, “Hunting – a part of cultural heritage.”
I am certain that the initiatives launched by this forum will help broaden and strengthen international contacts in environmental security and preserve the nature in all its diversity for future generations of our planet’s inhabitants.”
The General Assembly of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation is held on May 12–15, 2011 in St Petersburg.
