The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“Your forum is set to discuss topical issues of guaranteeing international and regional security and responding to global challenges such as extremism and crisis situations linked to interethnic hatred, religious intolerance and racism. You will also be discussing information security, and drinking water and food shortages.
It is essential today for different countries to develop their security cooperation, organise constant exchange of experience and information, and work together to develop new forms of joint activity.
I hope that this meeting will mark yet another step forward in developing international cooperation and helping us to be more effective in protecting our citizens from potential threats.”
The second international meeting of high representatives for security is taking place in Yekaterinburg, with 52 delegates from different countries and from the UN attending.
The first international meeting of high representatives for security took place at Russia’s initiative in October 2010 in Sochi.
