The telegram reads, in part:
“This meeting has brought together over 300 representatives of intelligentsia and non-governmental organisations, ministries, and parliaments from our two nations in Saransk. You will be looking into the problem of maintaining national self-identity in the age of globalisation and exchanging views on possible ways to create dialogue between various ethnic cultures.
I count on the results of your forum’s work to help implement new bilateral initiatives in the humanitarian sector, and to promote effective Russian-European cooperation in this important area.”
The 12th Russian-Finish Cultural Forum is being held in Saransk, the capital of Mordovia. Its theme is “Ethnic Culture in a Globalising World.”
