The message reads, in part:
“I greet you at the Moscow State University conference that has brought together eminent scholars from Russia and around the world.
This conference is dedicated to a remarkable date: the 300th anniversary of Mikhail Lomonosov, an outstanding Russian scientist. In many ways his theories anticipated the modern understanding of the structure of matter, started a new chapter in physics, chemistry and astronomy, and his studies in the history, rhetoric, stylistics and grammar of the Russian language contributed to the flourishing of humanities in the XVIII century Russia. Mikhail Lomonosov laid the foundations of the national academic school and was instrumental in the development of higher education.”
