The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“This meeting is the first such big and representative event devoted to developing our humanitarian ties in the history of our countries’ bilateral relations.
You will discuss a broad range of bilateral cooperation issues in the public sphere, including interaction between civil society institutions and the authorities, developing dialogue on youth, education and science issues, and joint projects in the field of history.
Direct and open exchange of views between our countries’ politicians, members of the intelligentsia, and scholars will help to reinforce our multifaceted partnership. I am sure that your forum offers the right conditions for becoming a useful platform for discussing the humanitarian agenda and coming up with new ideas for deepening the ties between our peoples.”
The first Russian-Abkhazian Humanitarian Forum Abkhazia and Russia: Towards a Public Dialogue is taking place in Abkhazia’s capital, Sukhum.
