The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“The Association of Russian Banks has built up valuable and in many ways unique experience over these last years and has earned a high reputation in business circles in Russia and abroad. The Association’s main achievements include active involvement in consolidating Russia’s banking community and strengthening confidence in Russian lending institutions. Your congresses, which offer a much-needed forum for detailed and substantive discussion of the priorities before the country’s financial and credit system, further pursue these aims.
Today, banks play a key part in attracting long-term investment for developing high-tech production and supporting the economy’s real sector and small and medium-sized businesses. Important issues such as developing mortgages, consumer and student loans, making banking services more accessible and improving their quality are also big priorities.
I am sure that the proposals, initiatives and recommendations your Association’s 24th congress puts forward will help to resolve these important tasks.”
