Mr Medvedev made this statement at a meeting with the members of the Central Council of the Russian Agrarian Movement.
The President discussed with the specialists ways to make Russia’s agriculture sector more competitive, protect and regenerate land resources, make the sector more attractive for investment, carry out infrastructure projects, ensure credit resources for production and processing businesses in the sector and for agricultural machinery-building.
Earlier in the day, Mr Medvedev visited the laboratories of company AgroPark in the village of Rogachyovo and learned about the production of a mini potato tuber that has genetic resistance to viral diseases. The President also saw houses that AgroPark builds for people living in rural districts. Mr Medvedev also visited the Dmitrovsky Ovoshchi Holding.
