The telegram reads, in part:
“In recent years your university has become one of the republic's leading institutions, the main centre for forging highly professional graduates. In Russia and in other countries it is now recognised and appreciated as an authoritative educational and research centre, known for its traditions and its strong faculty.
It is important that Kazakh National University is currently expanding, seeking to meet the highest international requirements and standards. It has improved its corporate management and introduced advanced education technology. And of course it has many alliances with Russia's universities. For many decades Russia and Kazakhstan have actively cooperated in the field of higher education. This valuable tradition of joint research and the exchange of students and graduate students will be carefully maintained in the future and continue to grow.
I warmly recall visiting the university in 2006 and the discussions I had with teachers and students. I am proud to hold the title of honorary professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.”
