The message reads, in part:
“This popular sport’s history goes back centuries. Over the last decades, the active stand taken by the sports community, enthusiasts and devoted fans have seen bandy, or “Russian hockey”, as it is known here, reach new heights. Every year, the game brings together ever more professionals and amateurs from many countries, including Russia. We have every right to take pride in the achievements of our national team, which has won top awards at the most prestigious international competitions.
We have done everything possible to make sure that this championship will be of the highest level. I am sure that the players will demonstrate their captivating and masterful game and give us some vivid and unforgettable memories.”
The world championship will take place in Khabarovsk from March 29 to April 4.
