The message reads:
“April 24, 2015 is a sorrowful date linked to one of the most tragic and dramatic events in the history of humanity – the genocide of the Armenian people.
One hundred years later, we bow our heads before the memory of all victims of this tragedy, which our country has always seen as its own pain and sorrow.
Russia has always held an objective and unchanging view that there can be no justification for mass elimination on ethnic grounds. The international community has a duty to do everything possible to ensure that such atrocities never happen anywhere again. Future generations of Armenians and other peoples in that region must live in a world of harmony and never have to know the horrors that come from the incitement of religious enmity, aggressive nationalism and xenophobia.
I wish fraternal Armenia and all Armenians living in Russia wellbeing, peace and prosperity.
May the victims’ memory live forever.”
