The message reads, in part:
“Your work requires special qualities – extreme competence, perfect organisation and personal bravery. At a word, firefighters always come to the rescue fighting the fires at the cost of their own lives. Such commitment and involvement in other people’s troubles and misfortunes have earned you the deep respect and gratitude of the people.
It is important that the current generation of Russia’s State Fire Service officers keep up the traditions and legacy of their predecessors and do their job with dignity. This is what we see this year as well. It was to a large extent your precise and coordinated action in Siberia and the Far East that made it possible to overcome the emergency situation and block the spread of fire.
I would like to stress that today it is important to introduce cutting-edge technology and the latest equipment, to strengthen the voluntary rescue service, develop the special infrastructure and the early-warning system, and to raise public awareness about nature friendliness and safety of life.”
