Congratulations to Russia’s paratroopers and veterans of Airborne Forces

Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s paratroopers and veteran servicemen on the 85th anniversary of the Airborne Forces’ creation.

The message reads, in part:

“Over these past decades, thousands of Russian soldiers and officers have chosen to serve in the Airborne Forces and have passed with honour difficult tests of endurance and written memorable and vivid pages in our Armed Forces’ heroic chronicles. This year, as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Victory, we have particular words of gratitude for paratrooper veterans. Their courage, steadfastness and strength of spirit will always be an example of true patriotism and loyalty towards the military oath and duty.

It is important that the current generation of paratroopers continues and builds on its predecessors’ military traditions and honours the laws of military brotherhood. I am sure that you will continue to polish your professional skills and training and provide reliable defence for Russia’s national interests.”
