The message reads, in part:
“We welcome the addition of the Iturup forum in the Far East to the list of vivid and interesting youth forums that take place in various parts of our country. You have ahead of you substantive discussions, meetings with prominent scholars, experts and politicians, and discussions of joint projects in education, science, search work and business. Naturally, you will also enjoy a diverse cultural programme, creative competitions and sports events.
I am sure that this busy agenda and broad opportunities for informal and friendly communication will provide a solid foundation for developing bold and genuinely useful proposals that can be put into practice, including in the Russian Far East, which has tremendous development potential.”
The Iturup National Youth Educational Forum is taking place for the first time on Iturup Island in the Kuril Islands on August 12–24.
