Visit to Bakhchisarai Palace

Vladimir Putin and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi visited the Bakhchisarai historical, cultural and archaeological open-air museum, where they went to the Khan’s Palace (Hansara), which once was the residence of rulers of the Crimean Khanate.

Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi Berlusconi Silvio Berlusconi Silvio toured the indoor premises of the palace and its territory. After the tour, the Russian President spoke with the museum staff.

The Bakhchisarai open-air museum is one of the most frequently visited museums in Crimea. It features Crimean Tatar ethnographic furniture, domestic and ceremonial ware, everyday items, jewellery and other works of art. The focal point of the exposition is a display of the Khan’s belonging, including decorative fabrics, carpets, furniture, glassware, porcelain and pottery made by Crimean, Iranian and Turkish masters in the 17–20th centuries.
