Among the subjects discussed were budget revenue, the demographic situation, opening new paramedic centres, and the processing industry’s contribution to the gross regional product. Mr Ignatyev said that 27 electrical engineering companies have formed an industry cluster in the region to lobby their interests. They compete today with global companies such as ABB, Alstom, and Schneider Electric. Restructuring is also underway at the Tractor Plants concern. Mr Ignatyev said that one in five businesses in the republic is now pursuing innovation development.
