The President said, in particular, in his message:
“Your traditional meetings have long since become an important and welcome event in the country’s life, after all, your scope of responsibility concerns current issues regarding the protection of children’s rights and interests and strengthening the institution of the family.
On the agenda of this year’s forum is the important subject of Protecting the Rights of Underage Patients: Tasks, Problems and Prospective Solutions.
The state authorities make a priority of strengthening our country’s healthcare system. Nonetheless, we still have much work to do and one of the key areas of work is organising qualified medical assistance for children, especially for the most vulnerable among them – orphans and children left without parental care. I know that each of you is doing a lot of hard and necessary work in your regions. You help to ensure that seriously ill children get the needed treatment, unique operations, medical equipment, medicines, treatment and rehabilitation programmes. You provide effective help to minors in difficult circumstances abroad. This multifaceted and very important work deserves our profound and sincere respect.
I am sure that during this congress, the regional children’s rights commissioners and representatives from the academic and expert communities will discuss that latest achievements in medicine and healthcare, exchange experience, and receive the needed consultations on resolving today’s biggest issues.”
