The message reads, in part:
“The agenda of your meeting is comprised of important current issues, many of which are directly connected with the dramatic events that are happening in some Muslim countries and are literally affecting the entire world.
A powerful blow has been delivered with Russia’s assistance at the terrorist and extremist forces in Syria. However, terrorists and their supporters continue their efforts to destabilise the situation in the region and are doing everything in their power to undermine international conflict resolution efforts. With this aim in view, they are trying to make use of the persisting differences between ethnic and religious groups and the Muslim nations’ legitimate discontent over external interference in their internal affairs and attempts to force alien development models on them.
I would like to reaffirm that Russia will always be a reliable friend and ally of the Islamic world and will always be ready to lend a helping hand in overcoming global challenges and threats and in resolving current issues. For our part, we expect the Muslim countries to take a pro-active approach towards formalising the principles of justice, the rule of law and rejection of coercive approaches and economic and propaganda pressure in international relations.
I am confident that your meeting will be constructive and will promote greater mutual trust, understanding and cooperation between our nations.”
