Mr Kovalev said that growth of around 3 percent is forecast in agriculture for the year as a whole. The overall results for the year in oil refining, electricity production and mining are expected to be similar to last year’s.
Despite the difficult economic situation, Ryazan Region has carried out a number of investment projects in import substitution areas. Thus, the region is home to a plant producing biopharmaceuticals, primarily the Ultriks vaccine, which uses only Russian-produced substances.
An agreement has also been signed with CP Group of Thailand on building a dairy plant in the region.
