The message reads, in part:
“It is important that such serious and highly relevant issues as development of the Far East have brought together here, in Sakhalin Region, a team of young and energetic professionals aspiring to make a personal contribution to implementing the large-scale programmes for bolstering the region’s economic potential and improving its infrastructure.
I am certain that the forum’s substantial agenda, which includes lectures and seminars, as well as open discussions with leading experts, scholars, and heads of state and public organisations will give you the chance to expand your professional and creative horizons and open up new opportunities for moving ahead.
I am sure that you will spend these days with great benefit for yourselves, make new friends and meet likeminded people, and gain unforgettable impressions from your time in the Russian Far East – one of the most beautiful parts of our country”.
The Iturup National Youth Educational Forum will take place from August 6 to September 3, 2016, on Iturup Island in the Kuril Archipelago. Taking part in the forum are young scientists and academics working in areas related to the development of the Russian Far East. The forum’s themes include infrastructural development of Russia’s eastern regions, innovative industry, financial conditions for rapid development, energy and space cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region, and ways to form an attractive image of the Russian Far East to draw people in to settle in the region.
