The President of Russia again congratulated Theresa May on her appointment to the highest office. During a discussion of current bilateral issues, both leaders expressed dissatisfaction with the current parameters of cooperation in the political, trade and economic spheres. They agreed to step up joint work in some areas.
Theresa May confirmed the participation of the United Kingdom in high-level celebrations of a memorable historical event in late August – the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first British Arctic convoy in Arkhangelsk, several weeks after Nazi Germany’s invasion of the USSR.
Both leaders agreed to foster dialogue between intelligence agencies dealing with aviation security and made plans to meet in person in the near future.
