The Governor briefed the President on the situation in the region in the first six months of 2016, pointing to stability and growth potential in all the basic industries. The amount of shipped products increased by 1.3 percent in current prices, and industrial production went up by nearly 5 percent.
Mr Kuyvashev also reported on the results of the INNOPROM International Industry Trade Fair, which was recently held in Yekaterinburg, and the Third China-Russia EXPO held within the fair. The agreements that have been made public are worth 4.5 billion rubles. The Third China-Russia EXPO was attended by 230 Chinese companies. Some 130 Indian companies participated in the INNOPROM fair, which was attended by 632 companies, two thirds of them from 17 foreign countries, including European ones.
Speaking about socioeconomic indicators and the implementation of the Presidential executive orders signed in 2012, the Governor said that 1,280 jobs for people with disabilities had been created in the region, preschools accept all children aged three to seven, 38 percent of adults aged 25 to 65 have upgraded their skills or were trained in new professions, and one-stop government services are available to 99 percent of people in the region.
