Vladimir Putin will make a working trip to Primorye Territory on September 1–3

Announcement, September 1 − 3, 2016

On Knowledge Day, the President of Russia will visit a school in Vladivostok and the local branch of the Nakhimov Naval School – the Presidential Cadet School in Vladivostok.

The President will also inspect the development of the Zvezda Shipyard, which will make it possible to build and provide maintenance services for different classes of vessels.

On September 2, Vladimir Putin will meet with residents of priority development areas in the Far Eastern Federal District. They will discuss current issues pertaining to the further development of businesses in the region. The meeting will be held on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island within the framework of the Second Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

The EEF aims to promote the investment appeal of the Russian Far East and offers broad opportunities for developing cooperation between Russian and foreign businesses.

Later that day, the President will hold talks with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, who will come to Russia for the EEF. Mr Putin and Mr Abe plan to discuss progress in the implementation of the agreements they reached in Sochi on May 6, 2016, and to exchange opinions on bilateral cooperation issues, including trade, political, economic, energy and cultural cooperation. They will focus on the implementation of large investment projects and the launch of new joint initiatives. The Russian and Japanese leaders will also hold detailed discussions on the current international and regional issues.

On September 3, the President will attend the plenary session of the Second Eastern Economic Forum, after which he will meet with President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye, who will attend the EEF as part of her working visit to Russia.

The agenda for the upcoming Russian-South Korean talks includes bilateral relations and opportunities for their development, as well as bilateral trade, political, economic and cultural cooperation. The two leaders will focus on current international and regional issues. A number of bilateral documents are to be signed following the talks.
