On September 3–5, Vladimir Putin will visit Hangzhou in the People’s Republic of China to attend the G20 summit.

Announcement, September 3 − 5, 2016

The summit’s official programme will begin on September 4. The Russian head of state will attend the forum’s first working session devoted to improving economic policy coordination, as well as a reception on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

On the same day, the President of Russia will participate in an informal meeting of BRICS leaders, which will traditionally take place ahead of the G20 summit. Vladimir Putin is also scheduled to hold full-scale talks with President Xi Jinping.

On September 5, the summit’s second day, the Russian head of state, together with the other G20 leaders, will continue an in-depth exchange of opinions at four working sessions on the following themes: enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of global economic and financial management; international trade and investment; inclusive and interconnected development; other factors influencing the global economy.

The summit will result in a G20 communique with a list of working documents approved by the G20 leaders. Germany will present the priorities for its G20 Presidency in 2017.

On September 4–5, Vladimir Putin will have a number of other bilateral contacts with G20 heads of state and government.
