Issues of economic cooperation and joint measures to counter the effects of the financial crisis were the subject of discussion.
The two leaders discussed their bilateral relations, foreign policy coordination, and efforts to ensure regional security.
A separate subject of discussion was cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. Mr Medvedev and Mr Lukashenko talked about construction by Russia of a nuclear power plant in Belarus.
The presidents also discussed cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
During their meeting Mr Medvedev and Mr Lukashenko outlined the schedule of their future contacts.
The meeting lasted more than three hours.
