The theme for this year’s meeting is The Future in Progress: Shaping the World of Tomorrow. Participants in the three-day meeting will examine a broad range of issues covering the main challenges that will shape tomorrow’s world in international relations, internal political organisation, the economy, demography, and technology.
The participants will also seek ways to mitigate the consequences of radical changes on the global political map, respond to the crisis in democratic systems and the way they work, look at possible conclusions from the European project’s failures, and consider the future of Russia-EU relations and what the global system might look like in 10 years’ time.
More than 130 experts and political analysts from Russia and 35 other countries, including 90 from abroad, are taking part in this year’s Valdai International Discussion Club meeting.
