The two presidents expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached, with Russia and Turkey acting as mediators, between the Syrian government and the so-called moderate opposition on ending military hostilities throughout Syrian territory and beginning a political settlement process. In this context, they underscored the importance of the efforts underway to organise the negotiation process in Astana.
Mr Putin and Mr Erdogan expressed their support for continued efforts to strengthen antiterrorism cooperation and noted that the ceasefire will not apply to terrorist groups, particularly ISIS.
They also discussed several current bilateral cooperation matters.
