The message reads, in part:
“The centuries-old tradition of celebrating Sagaalgan – Festival of the White Moon – brings together all Buddhist nations and those who respect the spiritual and moral roots of this ancient religion and respect its timeless values and principles.
It is important that Russian Buddhists have carefully maintained and carried this unique historical and cultural heritage on from one generation to another. They are also actively involved in the life of the country and in its enlightenment, educational and charitable projects, to contribute to the further development and improvement of the ethnic and religious dialogue and to social peace and accord.”
